The Lighter Fluid Refill is a product specifically designed for kerosene lighters, including ZIPPO! These products are essential for the everyday user who wants a more reliable flame and a cleaner burn.

You can use pure VM&P Naphtha instead of expensive name brand lighter fluid and it burns exactly the same but at a fraction of the cost. Buy it by the quart and start saving money right away. It evaporates 100% and leaves no residue to gunk up your wadding. It is the best alternative fuel that is cheaper than name brand lighter fluid. It is a great balance of ignitabilty, burn temperature, wind resistance, and evaporation rate. Available at any hardware store or have it delivered through me.

Available by the quart or pint is Heptane-N (also known as white gas) which is the very best! It burns just like naphtha but hotter and is easier to ignite and harder to blow out. Because of the cost, It’s a good one to store in your keychain canister to have the most reliable flame at the ready. Sold as Bestine thinner, it is safe and readily available on line or here.

99% Isopropyl Alcohol (ethanol) absorbs into camel hair wadding much more efficiently and helps preserve the life of your wadding. It is easy to ignite because it doesn’t require a high fuel to air ratio.It is a very clean burning option and it does evaporate faster but you can add more so it kind of equals out. And it’s the cheapest option by far. You can even use 70% or 91% available in any grocery store, it just doesn’t perform quite as well.

Pure Acetone burns hot and leaves nothing behind, but it evaporates quickly so it is great to use to clean out your wadding. It’s readily available in any grocery store.

Try mixing your own blend - Naphtha mixes well with Heptane to give your lighter a little extra power. Ethanol and Acetone mix well together and both burn with pretty blue flames. Acetone can be mixed with any of these chemicals for a boost in ignitabily and flame temperature.

Note: Ethanol does not mix with naphtha or heptane, it is like oil and vinegar-it stays separated.

Note: If using acetone do not get any on your painted or sticker case - it will desolve it.
